April 3 - Announcements

· March Madness basketball pool - we have 15 entries and as of today Jen Troke is in the lead followed by Rick Collins. This is our only fundraiser for the year. If you did not participate you can still make a donation to the club in support of our service projects.

· “Handbags for Hope” Lisa delivered a car load of handbags that we collected for this very worthy project. South Austin Rotary supports domestic violence victims!

· April 17th, Jeff Coleman, District Governor Nominee will be our speaker Jeff is PDG Shannon Coleman’s husband and a dynamic speaker. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

Service To Our Community

For our DAP Grant project this year we will be constructing a Gaga Ball Pit at Sunset Valley Elementary School on Saturday, April 13th, 8:30-4:00pm. Mark your calendars and plan to come help! Wear your Rotary shirts and watch for an email with details. The Girl Scouts will be providing lunch.

Styrofoam collection. Remember to save all your styrofoam and bring it to our meeting or to the Southwest Club’s booth at the Sunset Valley Farmers Market on the first Saturday of the month. Contact Jenny, Shirley or Beth Long for help.

Lauren is a junior at Texas State University and a Borgen Project supporter. The Borgen Project is a nonprofit organization that advocates for leaders in the U.S. and other countries to protect the world’s poor through legal action. She is passionate when it comes to politics!
