South Austin Rotary joined clubs around the world on October 24 to celebrate World Polio Day and participate in the World’s Largest Polio Walk, supporting Rotary International’s ongoing mission to eradicate polio.

Rotarians, friends, and supporters gathered to walk, raise awareness, and help fund the global effort to protect children from this preventable disease. Sporting their purple Polio Walk shirts and blue Rotary Rockstar tie-dye shirts, South Austin Rotary members showed their Rotary spirit and commitment to making a difference.

The club’s participation was part of an extraordinary regional effort across Zones 25B and 29, where 444 Rotary clubs across 16 districts and seven states came together for the cause. Together, the Zones are on track to raise more than $1.2 million to support polio eradication.

Rotary has made tremendous progress in the fight against polio, but the work is not finished. Continued fundraising, vaccination, and public awareness are essential to ensuring that no child has to suffer from this devastating disease.

South Austin Rotary is proud to have joined this worldwide movement. Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, encouraged others to contribute, and helped spread the word.

Every step counts. Every donation matters. Together, we can End Polio Now!
