South Austin Rotary is all about service, community and family—and our October Member Spotlight, Amber Scarborough, embodies all three!
Amber moved from Lubbock to Austin in 2007 to begin her career as an Investment Advisor and joined the Rotary Club of South Austin shortly thereafter. Over the years, she has become a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for Rotary. Amber is a Past President, Paul Harris Fellow and Roll of Fame recipient of South Austin Rotary.
Her commitment to Rotary’s mission extends well beyond her club. From 2013 through 2024, Amber served on the District 5870 Central Texas Public Image Team, helping clubs share their stories, promote their service and strengthen Rotary’s presence in the community.
In 2020, Amber was invited to serve as an Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator (ARPIC) for Zones 25B and 29. After completing her three-year commitment as an ARPIC, she continued her service as the Region 36 Public Image Team Advisor, helping Rotary leaders and clubs across the region effectively tell the story of Rotary and the difference their members are making.
Amber has also made a lasting impact through Rotary’s youth programs. She served for three years as the District 5870 RYLA Camp Director, helping create an experience that inspires young people to become confident leaders and community-minded citizens.
And Rotary truly is a family affair for Amber. Over the years, Amber and her family have had the joy of hosting three Rotary Youth Exchange students, welcoming them into their home and becoming part of their lives and stories.
For Amber, Rotary is about much more than meetings and service projects—it’s about people, relationships and life-changing opportunities. She loves sharing the Rotary story with anyone who will listen and helping others discover the incredible experiences that Rotary provides.
We are grateful for Amber’s leadership, passion and dedication to Service Above Self. South Austin Rotary is fortunate to have her as a member—and we’re proud to celebrate her as our October Member Spotlight!
