March 20 - Announcements
It’s March Madness basketball pool time!!!   Some of us are picking Kansas to go all the way and others are picking Texas!  It’s a fundraiser for our service projects.  $25 entry fee, the club will keep 50% and the winners will share the other 50%  Look for the email from CBS Sports that says “Jenny’s Bracket Is Back” on 3/13/24.  Forward that email to friends and family so they can play too!  Money is due by tomorrow, 3/21.

Service To Our Community

For our DAP Grant project this year we will be constructing a Gaga Ball Pit at Sunset Valley Elementary School on April 13th. Mark your calendars and plan to come help!  Girl scouts will be there to help us with some of their parents. 

Styrofoam collection.  Remember to save all your styrofoam and bring it to our meeting or to the Southwest Club’s booth at the Sunset Valley Farmers Market on the first Saturday of the month.  Contact Jenny, Shirley or Beth Long for help.  

 

Austin Cosmopolitan's Handbags for Hope Project
They are collecting women’s handbags, bags and shoes during the month of March for domestic violence victims.  New or gently used medium to large women’s purses and bags.

Mainspring Schools is Austin’s oldest preschool and has been one of South Austin Rotary’s main benefactors for years.  Lisa Killough serves on their board of directors. Colin was a foster mom first and adopted her son in July of 2014. She first enrolled him in the preschool closest to her home and later realized that he was going to need more help than that school could provide.
